Caption: A man was killed Friday after a suspected drunken driver fleeing authorities crashed head-on into his vehicle on Highway 138. A California Highway Patrol officer noticed a gray Toyota Corolla cross a double yellow line into oncoming traffic about 1 p.m. and tried to pull the driver over.The woman behind the wheel began to pull over but then suddenly accelerated, weaving in and out of traffic while driving between 30 and 50 mph.She led the officer on a five mile pursuit before speeding up to 100 mph, again crossing into oncoming traffic and hitting a Chevy Camaro head-on. A 46-year-old Santa Ana man driving the Camaro was killed instantly, said CHP Officer Daniel Hesser.The woman, 45-year-old Zimmie Lynn Burnath, had to be extricated from her Toyota and suffered major injuries. She was flown to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton.
